Discover Yakitori Hachibei

Looking for a cozy spot to enjoy authentic Japanese grilled skewers in Honolulu? Yakitori Hachibei on 20 N Hotel St is the place to be. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this restaurant delivers an exceptional dining experience that stands out in the city’s vibrant food scene. The warm, inviting atmosphere and top-quality yakitori make it a must-visit spot.

As soon as you walk in, you’ll feel the comforting vibe that makes this diner special. It’s not just a place to eat; it’s a place where you can truly unwind and enjoy a meal in a relaxed, unpretentious setting. The staff is friendly and welcoming, which enhances the entire dining experience. It's clear they know their craft, and it’s always refreshing to be greeted with a smile, especially after a busy day in the city.

The star of the show, of course, is the yakitori. The skewers are perfectly grilled, with a delicious smokiness that adds a whole new layer of flavor to the tender chicken. The menu offers a variety of options, from traditional chicken yakitori to more adventurous choices like grilled vegetables and beef. Each skewer is seasoned to perfection, and the balance of flavors is something that sets Yakitori Hachibei apart from other spots in Honolulu.

One of the standout features of the restaurant is the way they prepare their dishes. The grilling process is an art form at Yakitori Hachibei. The skewers are cooked over an open flame, and the chefs use a technique that allows the meat to stay juicy on the inside while developing a slightly crispy exterior. The result is a flavor-packed bite that leaves you craving more. It’s a simple concept, but executed flawlessly.

In addition to the yakitori, Yakitori Hachibei offers a variety of side dishes and appetizers that perfectly complement the main course. Whether you go for their crispy gyoza or the refreshing pickled vegetables, these dishes bring additional textures and flavors that elevate the meal. Pairing them with a cold beer or a refreshing sake adds to the experience.

The menu isn’t overwhelming, but it offers enough variety to satisfy everyone’s taste. If you’re unfamiliar with yakitori, the staff is happy to offer suggestions based on your preferences. They’ll guide you through the different types of skewers, and the way the dishes are prepared makes it easy to find something new each time you visit. Even if you’re a regular, there’s always something to look forward to.

When it comes to location, 20 N Hotel St places Yakitori Hachibei in a prime spot for both locals and tourists. It’s conveniently situated in Honolulu, making it easy to stop by for a meal after a day of exploring the area. Whether you're on a lunch break or winding down after work, this diner offers a welcoming atmosphere that feels like a home away from home.

The restaurant’s ambiance is casual, with an understated charm that makes it an ideal spot for a laid-back dinner with friends or family. The wooden interiors and simple decor create a cozy setting, making it easy to settle in and enjoy a meal. It’s not a place to rush through your food but rather to take your time and savor the experience.

Yakitori Hachibei has built a loyal following, and it’s easy to see why. The food speaks for itself-each skewer is grilled to perfection and packed with flavor. Beyond that, the attentive service and welcoming atmosphere make it a place you’ll want to return to time and again. • An unforgettable dining experience! Yakitori Hachibei is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic and incredibly delicious Japanese cuisine. We opted for the omakase and were blown away by every single dish. The star of the show, however, was the Wagyu, which was absolutely phenomenal perfectly cooked and meltingly tender with a rich, incredible flavor. The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. This is truly an outstanding restaurant that delivers an amazing culinary journey.

  • The atmosphere and the service is great; friendly wait staff and prompt seating and service. The food took a little longer than I'd like, and when it finally came we weren't thrilled with it. No soda. And the drinks are small. I included a pic of the 8 oz cup of Mocktail Lychee sparkle. Mostly Ice, for 8 bucks. I sent the Yamaimo back, thinking that it was served traditionally, grated and steamed. Instead they do it fried. Yuck. A starchy earthy mess. Disappointed to say the least. Beef Tongue and chicken Karaage salty. Shiso Butabara Yummy. All very over priced for serving size.

  • We went when they first opened and it was empty. Service was great and food taste was very unique and delicious. You go through a wave of flavors that hit the pallet well. Suntory biru was great too. Happy hour was amazing!

  • The best Yakitori in town. The Chicken meatball is the favorite for me and my husband. It was my first time to have the Lemond Chu-Hi and it is really good. My toddler baby has the Cream Cheese Tofu and she loves it. The host is very welcoming and very polite. Always the go to place for my special occasion.

  • I've been wanting to go to a Japanese Yakitori place for a while and came across a review of this place on IG. I work in downtown so it was a quick walk for me. We ordered the omakase and a few additional dishes. Everything was cooked to perfection and we truly enjoyed the food here. The staff was friendly and attentive. The happy hour prices are great but we just missed out on that. I will definitely come back next time.
